A New Year, A Fresh Start!

For many people the New Year is a time for reflection and a fresh start. We often make resolutions like giving up chocolate or doing more exercise, I know I certainly do! It could also be the perfect time to start thinking about kick starting your career or returning to work after an extended career break.
I joined the Brightsparks Digital Marketing Trainee programme in October 2021 after seeing the advert shared by a friend on social media. The course felt like an excellent opportunity to give me the confidence to resume my professional career after dedicating the last four years to raising my family. I was further encouraged to join after learning about Brightsparks values which are all about doing good and helping people to move on and up in life. There are not many courses that offer such a rewarding environment to learn in. So for the first time since thinking about going back to work I felt ready to hit the apply button!
The interview process was incredibly supportive and made me feel really excited about getting started. I was initially apprehensive as I don’t have a digital marketing background however I soon realised that this is not required and these are skills that can be developed over time if it is a career path that you want to go down.
After successfully completing the 10 week course I have learnt many new skills, including interpreting and delivering live client briefs, creating social media content and designing a landing page.
